About The Really Interesting Crab Company

By having access to its own dedicated fishing boats, The Really Interesting Crab Company is in a unique position to provide its customers with the opportunity to trace the provenance of each crab or lobster bought.  Ebonnie, Helen Claire and La Creole catch these from the fresh, clean waters around the Channel Islands. They are then delivered weekly, by refrigerated van, along with Mussels, Clams and all other shellfish.

The three boats are all equipped with the most advanced communication systems. By utilising these, it is possible to give a regular forecast of shellfish availability for each delivery. This enables Chefs to plan their buying and their menus on a day-by-day basis, minimising waste and ensuring that their customers dine on the finest and freshest possible seafood.

This website contains video footage and photographs of the boats at work.  A novel chance to see the very boat that caught your crab or lobster! Alternatively, the map panel displayed below may show the vessel fishing in real time if she is at sea. This is where your shellfish is being caught.

A vast amount of shellfish from Nick Bright`s boats has been sold into France and Portugal. Many buyers make long journeys to the market in Cherbourg to collect this superb produce. Nick and Adrian wanted to make it available to those on this side of the Channel who also appreciate top-quality shellfish. With that intention in mind, The Really Interesting Crab Company was born.

With an expanding and loyal customer base, reliability and efficiency are of utmost importance as is the care applied to quality control. There are plans to develop live crab and lobster tanks on the quayside at Paignton Harbour.

Nick and Adrian passionately believe that The Really Interesting Crab Company has a special role to play; bringing the fishermen and their boats and the diners in wonderful restaurants a little closer together.
